SEO content performance

Compare Search Console results for articles published by Superpractice and inspect an article's history.

What this page is for

The Content Performance page shows how articles published through Superpractice perform in Google Search Console.

Use it after publication to identify sustained gains, declines, and URL-matching issues.

Before you use it

  1. Connect Google Search Console to the production property.
  2. Publish the article to its final public URL.
  3. Allow time for Google to crawl the page and report impressions.
  4. Confirm any article whose status says Confirm URL.

Review the page

  1. Open Grow > SEO > Content Performance.
  2. Select a date range.
  3. Read the monthly clicks chart.
  4. Review the article table, which is ordered by clicks for the selected range.
  5. Use the page controls to move through the complete article list.

The current month is marked as incomplete in the chart. Do not compare a partial month directly with a complete month without accounting for the shorter period.

Understand the columns

ColumnWhat it shows
ArticleTitle, publication date, and known published path
Trend · 6 moThe article's recent complete-month click pattern
ClicksSearch clicks in the selected date range
ImpressionsSearch appearances in the selected date range
PositionAverage Search Console position; lower is better
StatusWhether the published URL is tracked, needs confirmation, or has no data yet

Change indicators compare complete periods when enough prior history exists. A missing indicator can simply mean that there is no valid comparison window.

Open an article's detail

  1. Click an article row.
  2. Review its performance history and top queries.
  3. Open the content editor when you need to inspect or improve the article.
  4. Use Open full page for the full article performance view.

Confirm a published URL

Use this when Superpractice cannot confidently match an article to a Search Console page.

  1. Click Confirm URL.
  2. Review the suggested or available published page.
  3. Confirm only the exact production URL for that article.
  4. Close the detail view and verify that the row changes to Tracking.

Choosing the wrong URL combines unrelated search data with the article. Check the page title, path, and live content before confirming.

Interpret common patterns

  • Impressions rise before clicks: Google may be testing the page across more queries.
  • Clicks rise while position is steady: the page may be appearing for more searches or earning a better click-through rate.
  • Position improves but clicks do not: demand may be low, the date range may be short, or the result may need a stronger title and description.
  • A new article has no data: it may not have been crawled or may not have earned impressions yet.
  • A sustained decline: investigate the query mix and open Content Audit.

If data is missing

  • Confirm Search Console is connected.
  • Check the selected range.
  • Confirm the published URL.
  • Make sure the page is public, indexable, and present in the connected property.
  • Allow for Search Console reporting delays.
  • Remember that this page covers articles published by Superpractice, not every page on the website.
