What the Meta Ads integration does
Meta Ads brings Facebook and Instagram ad account data into Superpractice. It can also sync lead form submissions from a selected Facebook Page.
Ad account reporting
Connects Meta ad account information for performance reporting.
Lead form sync
Receives Facebook and Instagram lead form submissions in real time.
Contact creation
Can create contacts when no email or phone match exists.
Backfill
Imports historical leads for a selected lookback range.
Setup
- Open Settings > Integrations > Meta Ads.
- Click
Connectand complete the Meta authorization flow. - If setup is incomplete, click
Finish Setup. - Select the Facebook Page that owns the lead forms. Use Meta's Lead Ads Testing Tool when you need to submit a test lead.
- Enable
Sync Meta lead forms. - Choose whether Superpractice should create contacts from unmatched Meta leads.
- Set a backfill range and run a backfill if you need historical leads.
Lead form settings
Lead form sync is tied to a Facebook Page, not only the ad account. After selecting a Page, review the available forms and disable any forms that should not create marketing touchpoints in Superpractice.
Test the connection
- Submit a test lead through one enabled form using Meta's Lead Ads Testing Tool.
- Confirm a contact or touchpoint appears in Superpractice.
- If contact creation is enabled, confirm an unmatched lead creates a contact.
- If the lead is missing, run a short backfill and check Page and form settings.
Conversions API: what it does
The Conversions API sends conversion events from Superpractice's servers directly to your Meta pixel, so Meta can attribute booked meetings and leads to the ads that produced them — even when browsers block the Meta pixel. Every event carries the strongest match data available: hashed email, phone, name, and location, plus the browser identifiers Meta uses to tie the event back to the ad click.
Booked meetings
Every meeting booked through your Superpractice booking pages sends a Schedule event automatically. Toggleable, on by default.
Leads
Confirmed website form submissions tracked by your Superpractice pixel send a Lead event automatically.
Custom page events
Fire a named event when a visitor loads a matching page — for example a thank-you page.
Pageviews
Optional and off by default: if your site also runs the Meta pixel in the browser, server pageviews would double-count PageView in Events Manager.
Events are deduplicated against your browser pixel where possible, delivered with automatic retries, and never include raw contact details — personal fields are hashed before they leave Superpractice, and page URLs are sent without query strings.
Conversions API: setup
- Connect Meta Ads first (see Setup above) and select your ad account.
- Open Settings > Meta Ads and find the
Meta Conversions APIcard. - Pick your pixel — the list loads from your connected ad account.
- Generate an access token in Meta Events Manager: open your pixel's
Settingstab, scroll toConversions API, and clickGenerate access token. The link in the card takes you to the right page. - Paste the token and save. Superpractice validates it against your pixel before storing it encrypted; the card shows the saved token's last four characters.
- To verify: copy a test event code from Events Manager's
Test eventstab, paste it in the card, and clickSend test event. The event appears in the Test events tab within a couple of minutes. Remove the code once verified — events sent with a test code still count in reporting.
Conversions API: custom page events
Custom page events fire when a visitor loads a page matching a URL rule — URL contains, Exact page, or Regex. The event picker has three sections:
Standard events
Meta's built-in events (Lead, Schedule, Subscribe, …). Campaigns can optimize for these directly with no extra setup in Meta.
Custom conversions
Your ad account's existing custom conversions. Picking one pre-fills the rule so Superpractice's events start counting toward that conversion.
Custom event
Any name you choose. It appears in Events Manager automatically; to optimize a campaign for it, wrap it in a custom conversion in Ads Manager.
Avoid naming a URL rule Lead or Schedule for pages inside flows that already send those events automatically — a Lead rule on a booking thank-you page would double-count. Pick a distinct name or an otherwise unused standard event instead.
Conversions API: troubleshooting
The card's status line shows the last event sent and seven-day counts for sent, queued, and failed events. Failed sends retry automatically with backoff for up to five attempts.
- If the card shows a token banner, the access token stopped working — generate a new one in Events Manager and paste it in. Queued events resume automatically once a working token is saved.
- Events appear in Events Manager within minutes; attributed results in Ads Manager can lag longer.
- In Events Manager's Test events view, the URL column may show only your domain — that is a display quirk of the tool. Open an event's details to see the full page URL.
- Check each event's match quality in Events Manager: meetings and leads should score high because they include hashed email, phone, and name.
