Microsoft Ads

Connect Microsoft Advertising so Superpractice reports its spend next to the contacts, matters, and clients it already brings in.

What the integration does

Superpractice already attributes contacts to Microsoft Ads (Bing) from the ad click. Connecting the account adds the spend, so cost per contact, client acquisition cost, ROAS, and LTV ROAS work for Microsoft Ads everywhere: its own dashboard, Mission Control, the Home dashboard, and the assistant.

Connecting does not change how contacts are attributed. Contacts and clients that came from Microsoft Ads before you connected keep their source, and their spend fills in from your account's history.

Connect

  1. Open Settings > Integrations and choose Microsoft Ads.
  2. Sign in the way you log in to Microsoft Advertising: Connect with Microsoft for a Microsoft account, or Connect with Google if you log in to ads.microsoft.com with Google. Using the wrong one shows a message telling you to use the other.
  3. Allow Superpractice to read your advertising data.
  4. If your login can reach more than one ad account, tick the accounts to report on and click Save accounts.

The first sync pulls up to 36 months of history, which can take a few minutes. After that, spend refreshes every 6 hours.

Only a firm admin can connect. One Microsoft Ads account can report to one Superpractice workspace.

If Superpractice manages your Microsoft Ads

The Superpractice team can link your account for you through Superpractice's own Microsoft login, so you don't need to sign in. Settings then shows Linked through Superpractice. If you later connect with your own Microsoft login, that replaces the link.

Map campaigns to practice areas

  1. Open Settings > Microsoft Ads.
  2. Map each campaign, or its ad groups, to a practice area.
  3. Enter a Monthly budget to include Microsoft Ads in Mission Control's budget pacing.
  4. Click Save.

Campaigns appear after the first sync. See Campaign mapping.

Which contacts count as Microsoft Ads

A contact counts as Microsoft Ads when their first visit carried a Microsoft click ID (msclkid), or utm_source of bing, msn, or microsoft-ads with a paid medium. Contacts link to a campaign through the campaign ID or name in the visit's tracking. Keep Microsoft Advertising's auto-tagging on so every click carries it.

Disconnect or reconnect

  • Disconnect stops syncing. Spend already synced stays, so past periods keep their numbers.
  • If Microsoft asks you to sign in again (for example after a password change), Settings shows Reconnect. Spend stops updating until you do.

Test the connection

  1. Open Grow > Microsoft Ads once the first sync has finished.
  2. Compare spend for a past week with Microsoft Advertising for the same dates.
  3. Check that Microsoft Ads shows spend in Mission Control's channel table.
